“My whole life has been pledged to this meeting with you.”

When I start reading a book by Leigh, I know that she will give me all the necessary elements so that I will die, sigh, and be happy with her work. With her we are already accustomed to perfection, but I really feel that this has been her best work, (although it may seem like a trick in every review of her books).

Maturity and the dramatic part in this story tear you apart and make you whole again.

We met Bane in Scandalous, being the delinquent boyfriend of Edie, and being the oven in Trent's shoe (sighs). Already in his story we find him older, more mature and you could said more focused, but with his list of crimes and bad steps lengthening by kilometers. He wants to make his dreams come true and for that he needs money, because we already know that he is not a rich kid, like our others Sinners, and he needs a little more dirty work to achieve his goals, so in one of those attempts is that he have the opportunity to meet our beautiful and great protagonist.

Jesse, is a beautiful girl, persecuted by misfortune, at her shorts 19 years old she has more on her back than many adults at 80, she's locked in itself, and it seems that she's only waiting for the Cosmo help her to disappear, she doesn't want to be saved, and we can even say that she don't need it, but it is not bad to have someone fight to be with you, and to help you be stronger.

Bane's insistence on being in his life made me so happy, I could not stop smiling, with his ways, that stretches and shrinks and the tension of the secrets they both had.

Everything has an amazing development, it does not let you take air at any time, the gentleman not so gentleman on his motorcycle that nobody cares, worried about the broken girl, the one that nobody wants, the one that everyone sees under his shoulder. Being imperfect together, each with their own interests that later become collective.

“I was never distracted, never deterred, and never jealous. So, imagine my surprise when I found myself being all three at once.”

Both have so much in their lives, things that have been struggling since childhood, being the "rejected" those who have no place in an elitist community as it's Todos los Santos, makes their living and attraction have even more meaning and made them y feel more comfortable in their own skins, leaving room for attraction and the pursuit of happiness and normality.

Like any love story, lust is the order of the day, and the sexual tension of these was through the heavens, I could feel the electricity that radiated just by being in the same room (besides all Jesse's ruined panties and the continuous erections in Bane's surf shorts haha). The challenge of not touching each other, of not want each other, of reacting only to continue away, to feel orgasms with words only, makes this story one of the hottest and sexiest books I been able to read.

The stories and secondary characters are always something to look forward in the books of this saga and all from the author, they manage to enrich the prose, and we must accept it, we want a book from each habitant of that millionaire city.

L.J. manages to make even the sick neighbor an interesting character, and make you hate the "bad guys" who you mentally prepare their murder 20 times.

The central theme of this work is crude, painful, and can knock closer to home. Sexism, the attack on women and the attempt of society to only sweep it under the carpet, is not something that should be allowed, and the author handled the subject with grace and better yet with realism, because although love can save you in many ways, you are the true heroine, you will always be the first friend, and your better cheerleader. You need love to get out of the bottom, but you have to start with self-love. The strength is in us we just have to look for it.

“You don’t need a prince, princess. You need a sword.”

The story of Jesse and Bane, is a triumph that goes beyond love. It gives you justice, courage, hope and realization that you always have to fight for yourself and for those you love.

I can’t wait for more books by L.J Shen, her authenticity with words and love towards her readers, make her one of the best in the genre.

"Toda mi vida se ha condicionado a ésta reunión contigo".

Cuando empiezo a leer un libro de Leigh, sé que me dará todos los elementos necesarios para que muera, suspire, y sea feliz con su obra. Con ella ya estamos acostumbrados a la perfección, pero realmente siento que éste ha sido su mejor trabajo, (sí aunque parezca una muletilla en cada reseña de sus libros). La madurez y la parte dramática en ésta historia te desgarra y te pone entera de nuevo.

Conocimos a Bane en Scandalous, siendo el novio delincuente de Edie, y siendo la horna en el zapato de Trent (suspira). Ya en su historia lo encontramos mayor, más maduro y hasta podría decirse más centrado, pero con sus lista de delitos y malos pasos alargándose por kilómetros. Él desea hacer sus sueños realidad y para eso necesita dinero, porque ya sabemos que no es un niño rico, como nuestros otros Sinners, y él necesita un poco más de trabajo sucio para lograr sus cometidos, así que en uno de esos intentos es que tiene la oportunidad de conocer a nuestra bella y genial protagonista.

Jesse, es una chica hermosa, perseguida por la desgracia, a sus cortos 19 años tiene más en su espalda que muchos adultos de 80, está encerrada en sí misma, y parece que sólo espera que el cosmo la ayude a desaparecer, no quiere ser salvada, y hasta podemos decir que no lo necesita, pero no es malo tener a alguien que luche por estar junto a ti, y que te ayude a ser más fuerte.

La insistencia de Bane por estar en su vida me hizo tan feliz, no podía dejar de sonreír, con la forma de ser de ellos, ese estira e encoge y la tensión de los secretos de ambos.

Todo tiene un desarrollo asombroso, no te deja tomar aire en ningún momento, el caballero no tan caballero en su motocicleta que no le importa nadie, preocupado por la chica rota, la que nadie quiere, la que todos ven por debajo del hombro. Siendo imperfectos juntos, cada uno con sus intereses propios para que después se volvieran colectivos.

"Nunca estuve distraído, nunca disuadido y nunca celoso. Entonces, imagina mi sorpresa cuando me encontré estando los tres a la vez.”

Ambos tiene tanto en sus vidas, cosas con las que vienen luchando desde la infancia, siendo los “rechazados” los que no tiene cabida en una comunidad elitista como lo es Todos los Santo, hace que su convivencia y atracción tenga aún más sentido y los haga sentir más cómodos en sus propias pieles, dejando espacio para la atracción y la búsqueda de la felicidad y normalidad.

Como toda historia de amor, la lujuria está a la orden del día, y la tensión sexual de éstos estaba por los cielos, yo podía sentir la electricidad que irradiaban con sólo estar en la misma habitación (además de todas las pantis arruinadas de Jesse y las continuas erecciones en los shorts de surfear de Bane ;)). El contaste desafío de no tocarse, de no desearse, de reaccionar sólo para continuar alejados, de sentir orgasmos sólo con palabras, hace de ésta historia, una de las más calientes y sexys que he podido leer.

Las historias y personajes secundarios siempre son algo que esperar en los libros de ésta saga y todos los de la autora, logran enriquecer la prosa, y debemos aceptarlo queremos libro de cada uno de los habitantes de esa millonaria ciudad, L.J. logra hacer hasta a la vecina enferma un personaje interesante, y te hace odiar a los “malos” que preparas mentalmente su asesinato unas 20 veces.

El tema central del ésta obra es crudo, doloroso, y puede tocar la puerta cerca de casa, el machismo, el ataque hacía las mujeres y el intento de la sociedad de sólo barrerlo bajo la alfombra, no es algo que se deba permitir, y la autora manejo el tema con gracia y mejor aún con realismo, porque aunque el amor te puede salvar de muchas maneras, eres tú la verdadera heroína, siempre serás tú el primer amigo, y tú mejor porrista, se necesita amor para salir del fondo pero hay que empezar con el amor propio. La fuerza está en nosotras sólo debemos buscarla.

"No necesitas un príncipe, princesa. Necesitas una espada”.

La historia de Jesse y Bane, es un triunfo que va más allá del amor. Te da justicia, valentía, esperanza y realización de que siempre debes luchar por ti y por los que amas.

No puedo espera por más libros de L.J Shen, su autenticidad con las palabras y amor hacia sus lectores, la hace una de las mejores del género.
