El viaje por carretera de Minnesota a Pennsylvania y de regreso, está destinado a ser la última aventura antes de que los cuatro amigos vayan por caminos separados en otoño.Excepto que nada sale como estaba previsto, a partir de la adición inesperada de Catherine Tate, la nueva novia de Jessie Keller.Entre un vehículo que funciona mal, estar atrapados en medio de un robo, beber cerveza, ser atacados por mosquitos, y otro drama adolescente, la experiencia de cinco, corazones rotos, miedo y risa. Tengo que ser sincera y decir que cuando lo empecé creí que sería algo cursi y con el típico “me gusta la chica de mi mejor amigo” porque es eso lo que se entiende por el título y la forma en que comienza (o tal vez solo fue mi loca imaginación, quién sabe)

“¿Apenas se conocieron anoche, y están saliendo?” Levanto mis cejas. 

“Si,” responde Catherine. 

Jessie levanta el pulgar mientras asiente con entusiasmo. “Tenemos una conexión. Como, totalmente.”

Pues bien, Jessie’s girl es la historia Sam y sus amigos (más, una inesperada nueva novia) en un viaje de carretera, en el cual descubrirá uno que otro secreto y se encontrarán en unas cuantas situaciones peligrosas y embarazosas.
Me gustaron los personajes, con Jessie tengo una relación amor/odio por cómo se comportó aunque más tarde demostró la clase de amigo que es a pesar de ser un poquito idiota.

Voy a tratar de ser un mejor amigo. "Jessie sonríe débilmente, la inflamación de su nariz y la barbilla tuercen sus rasgos. "No estoy seguro de que lo haga bien, pero voy a intentarlo. Supongo que necesitaba ser golpeado varias veces para darte cuenta de algunas cosas".

Hasta Cat, a quien creí que odiaría por ser la manzana de la discordia en un principio pero Lindy supo qué hacer con cada escena y personaje. Es un libro ligero y del largo perfecto para contar la historia, Jessie’s girl es un romance dulce con personajes reales. Totalmente recomendado.

Review:

I have to be honest and say that when I started I thought it would be something cheesy and with the typical "I like the girl of my best friend" because that is what it seems by the title and the way it begins (or maybe just it was my crazy imagination, who knows)

“You two just met last night, and you’re dating?” I lift my eyebrows. “Yes,” Catherine answers, brackets of unease surrounding her mouth as she divides her gaze between us. Jessie gives me a thumbs up sign while nodding enthusiastically. “We totally have a connection. Like, totally.”

Well, Jessie's girl is the story of Sam and his friends (plus an unexpected new girlfriend) on a road trip where he will discover one or two secrets and will be in a few dangerous and embarrassing situations. I liked the characters, with Jessie I have a love/hate relationship for how he behaved but later showed the kind of friend that he is, despite being a little idiot. 

I’m going to try to be a better friend.” Jessie smiles faintly, the swelling of his nose and chin contorting his features. “I’m not sure I’ll be any good at it, but I’m going to try. I guess I needed to be hit a few times to realize some things.” 

Even Cat, whom I thought I would hate for be the apple of discord at first but Lindy knew what to do with each scene and character. It’s a light book with the perfect length to tell the story, Jessie's girl is a sweet romance with real characters. Completely recommended.
